Shake off the dust boys and girls - I’m back!

I didn’t really go anywhere of course, just haven’t posted in a while. I’ve missed lots in my absence of blogging: death threats, a proposed Blogging Code of Conduct, SXSW 2007 and March Madness. Rather than coming to the party too late, after all the booze is drunk and all that’s left of the snacks is salt debris, I am going to skip over that stuff entirely and start anew.

iPhones + Horsepower | 31.Jan.07

I know I am supposed to be blown away by the iPhone. I should be scraping my jaw off of the floor. I should be ordering one now, rather than writing this post. But fact of the matter is, I could care less. As someone who used the same phone for half a decade - a phone my friends lovingly called ‘the Costanza phone’ - I am not easily roped in by wireless device technology hoopla. I spend approximately twelve hours a day in front of my Mac. Why on earth would I need to be plugged in to the machine beyond that? Sure it would be a handy email-to-go device and PDA users would no doubt be peering over my shoulder as I zipped around in Safari - but minus all that gadgetry, I just want to know if the bloody thing will get reception driving down the 405 in to West Los Angeles. If it’s anything like my current phone (the Motorola SLVR, for those keeping tabs at home) the answer to that query is a resounding ‘no’.
